Elon University, an independent university renowned as a national model for engaged learning, is seeking three full-time, experienced faculty members to teach in the Department of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The Nursing program is part of the Elon University School of Health Sciences, which also includes the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. For this 9-month, tenure-track faculty position, Elon offers a salary commensurate with qualifications, an excellent benefits package, and a generous retirement plan.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a core faculty member within the Department of Nursing, teaching nursing coursework to pre-licensure students.
• Provide guidance to students by serving as a faculty advisor.
• Maintain a record of ongoing scholarly activity and faculty development.
• Serve on departmental, School of Health Sciences, and university committees as elected or appointed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Hold a terminal degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Hold an unencumbered nursing license in North Carolina.
• Have two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time experience as a registered nurse.
• Satisfy the NC Board of Nursing requirements to teach in a pre-licensure nursing program.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including educational technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach a variety of courses depending on the needs of the department.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching.
• Experience with simulation.
• Knowledge and experience with planning and implementing interprofessional education.
